Join instructor Angela DeCarlis for an unseriously academic dive into formal principles of figure drawing! This class is geared toward learners who have some experience drawing from the model, but are looking to add new skills and techniques to their artistic arsenal.

"UNSERIOUSLY ACADEMIC"

This class embraces both nerdiness and anarchy! While we'll cover a variety of techniques taken from classical western art education, Ang believes that there is more to figure drawing than rote representation. Whether you thrive with formulas and rules, you want to work intuitively and emotionally, or you're striving for something in between, you will learn approaches that suit your goals.

MATERIALS

To make the most of this learning experience, Ang encourages students to work with either graphite or charcoal in a sketchbook that is 9"x 12" or larger (the bigger the better!). If you have a portable easel (like this one) feel free to bring it!

• Registration Cost: sliding scale $30–$50 per student, pay-what-you-can-afford*
