Materials, Color Theory & Oil Paint
This introductory class will build students' understanding of oil paint as a media, and will serve as excellent preparation for anyone looking to enroll in future painting classes with Ang.

For beginners and experienced artists interested in learning about working with oil paint, both practically and in theory. The content of the workshop will be calibrated to your group's learning goals!
Learn about pigments, color mixing, color organization, and methods of color observation, taught by an academy-trained artist and teacher in a welcoming and inclusive setting. We'll also learn the basics of working with oil paint as a medium.
4-Class Series for $100

About the Instructor
Angela DeCarlis has been teaching observational drawing and painting for more than 10 years. They believe in the power of community-oriented participatory arts, and work to make art education available and accessible to everyone.
In addition to teaching private workshops, Ang has instructed studio art classes at the University of Florida, the University of North Florida, and Lesley University. Additionally, they have delivered guest lectures or other educational programs at UC Berkeley, The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Paul K. Longmore Institute at SF State University, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, and the Harn Museum of Art. They studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and earned their MFA in Painting from the University of Florida in 2022.
